OTION membership is available to occupational therapists and occupational therapy students around the world.
There is currently no membership fee. However, we strongly encourage you to show your support for OTION by becoming an individual member of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT). The OTION website has been made possible by the financial support of WFOT. Your membership will assist WFOT to continue this service. For information on how to become an individual WFOT member, contact the Occupational Therapy Association in your country, or:

All you need to do is complete the Registration Form online (available soon) at the OTION web site and transmit automatically.
The Registration Form asks about your interest and/or experience with respect to working (or supporting the work of others) in developing countries and other areas of need. This information will allow us to enter you on the OTION Networking Database, and allow you to start networking with other OTION members.
The following services are provided to OTION members, and are accessible only after logging in.
You can search the OTION Networking Database to network with other occupational therapists and occupational therapy students in a range of categories. For example:
The Forums area is the real meeting place for OTION members. It is where you can talk to others, and keep up to date with new opportunities and events. The Forums area is divided into four sections:
* General discussion - share your ideas, experiences, and questions with other OTION members! We hope this area will lead to some lively and thought provoking discussion! In addition, OTION Members who are isolated from resources or professional support, can use this feature to request specific assistance from other OTION members. The opportunities here are many. You may require assistance with a project, a literature search on a particular topic, or to locate a journal article of interest. Just ask!
* Work opportunities - find out about paid and voluntary positions for occupational therapists currently available.
* Special interest groups - this area will be used to establish international 'special interest groups' on particular themes. The aim of each group would be to foster communication and professional support between therapists working in similar fields around the world. Our first special interest group is for HIV/Aids. Please let us know if you have other suggestions.
* News and events - for example, new initiatives, research opportunities, upcoming conferences or gatherings etc. Contributions welcome!
